Interclub Activity: SI Val Pusteria-Pustertal
Many of our members celebrated with the Pusteria Sorores in June the "inauguration of a room of their own." An initiative born from the collaboration between the GENERAL ARMA OF THE CARABINIERI and SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL, aimed at enabling women who have experienced
violence to file a complaint. Where? At the Carabinieri barracks in the city, but in a reserved, welcoming room that facilitates the dramatic moment of reporting. The Merania Club is also in the process of setting up its "room of their own."
Interclub Activity: Book Festival Trento.
An initiative held in Caldonazzo to promote "women's literature." The Soroptimist Club of Trento was present with a report, and the Merania Club participated with the presence of some members.
Interclub Activity: Borgo Val Sugana
In March, our club participated in the International Association of Women's Museum "Beyond Necklines". Women's associations working towards improving the lives of women should not be disconnected from each other but work together synergistically to achieve common goals such as equal opportunities in employment and salary, women-led businesses, and attention to the millennial generations.
In January, during our convivial meeting, we had an interesting report by our member Dr. Edith Rainer on the topic of heterologous and homologous insemination. In February, the pharmacist and herbal therapy expert, Dr. Zita Marsoner, gave a presentation on "Healing with Herbs". In March, our member Dr. Loretta Cadore presented an particularly interesting topic for women, "Osteoporosis: Prevention and Treatment".
In April, in collaboration with the Municipality of Merano, which organizes celebrations for International Women's Day on March 8th, we attended with a public conference. The speaker, our member Dr. Elisa Morra, a cardiologist at Tappeiner Hospital, discussed the most important aspects of gender medicine.
